Shoe gifts for the winter season

During the 2010s, ballet flats were one of the most notably trends of the decade. Today’s ballet flat trend adds more height to the shoe.

Shoes have taken a bold turn this season, perfect for a unique fashionable holiday gift. A variety of shoes have taken the trend stage.

Uggs Mini

Just in time for the winter season, Uggs are taking over again. These boots are suede with a wool lining. At the forefront of the resurgence of Uggs is Bella Hadid, awarded Model of the Year at the 2022 British Fashion Awards. Hadid is often sporting these boots in her street style while off duty. Instead of the classic longer Ugg boots that may reach mid-calf or even knee, the Ugg Minis reach just above the angle. Another variation of the Ugg Minis are the Ultra Minis which end mid ankle. If the recipient wants to have a taller look, the Mini Platforms is the best of both worlds. Ugg Minis can be found at their official website The minis are available in many shoe stores from prices ranging from $140 to $160.

Ballet Flats

Against some popular opinion, ballet flats are making a comeback. Straying away from last year’s platform shoes trend, shoes for this cold season are flatter. Taking inspiration from the original shoe for ballerina dancers, the flats cover only the toes. Its most charming quality is a bow in the front. Lily Rose Depp, actress and model, is known for her French girl style. She often wears ballet flats and kitten heels. Despite its association with one of the worst decades of fashion, the 2010s, ballet flats have modernized. Today, the shoe has more height or comes in block heels. The most notable example is the Miu Miu ballet flat. Miu Miu prices range from $800 to $1000. For a less pricey alternative but still long lasting, check out  Jeffrey Campbell where prices range at $150 to $300. Repetto is the brand of Depp’s classic $300 red block heel with a bow. Yuni Buffa is another place to go to for a similar price range. The greatest option is buying second hand ballet flats or kitten heels. Purchasing this way will guarantee unique shoe finds.

The Boston Birkenstock

Lastly, a comfortable shoe that satisfies everyone is the Boston from Birkenstock for all age ranges and genders. The slip-on clog uses suede with the Bikenstock’s iconic footbed with a flexible core and latex core. The shoe can be bought directly on the Birkenstock website or at Journey’s and Urban Outfitters. Prices range from $120 to $180.

Her preferred works of written literature are anything set in the 1800s, sci-fi romance, and foreign fashion magazines. Being that her favored subjects are English and Art, she hopes to find a career path in a combination of the two so long as she is commuting by plane.
