With the arrival of 2022 came many popular and life-changing beauty products since last January. Which of these products is actually worth your while?

Beauty products of 2022

The beauty industry has seen the release of so many great products within the past year. By far the best makeup brand of this year has been Rare Beauty. The brand was released in 2019 by Selena Gomez. However, the brand just seems to keep growing in popularity, and rightly so. Almost all of the brand’s products are amazing, but the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a cult favorite. It’s a weightless liquid blush that easily blends and builds. The blush comes in both matte and dewy finishes for different types of makeup looks. It comes in 11 shades and is sold for 23 dollars, which is affordable for a high-quality piece.

Another great product from Rare Beauty is the Positive Light Liquid Luminizer. This is essentially just a highlighter that provides a natural glow to the face. This also comes in a wide range of shades that work for every skin tone. It is 25 dollars which, again, is very affordable. The formula is lightweight and easily blendable. This makes it, as well as the blush, a great product for beginners in makeup.

Christian Dior is a French luxury fashion brand most known for its purses and clothes. However, several of its products drew popularity in 2022. Dior’s Addict Lip Glow Oil became popular for its elegant glass packaging, thick and shiny formula, and vibrant range of shades. It contains cherry oil which protects against drying of the lips. The most sought-after shade is Raspberry, which is the perfect shade of light pink. The lip product is $38 at Sephora and on the Dior website.

Another great Dior product is the BACKSTAGE Rosy Glow Blush. This blush is for those who want a natural glowy and rosy look on their cheeks. It comes in two shades; the Pink shade is for cooler skin tones and is the perfect shade of bubblegum pink blush. The Coral shade is for warmer skin tones and creates a sun-kissed glow on the face. The blush contains a color reviver technology that reacts to the skin’s pH levels in order to create a customized color on the face. This piece retails at $39 at Sephora.

Skincare of 2022

Drunk Elephant is a skincare brand that promises no essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes, or SLS. These ingredients can be harmful to your skin. The brand’s D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops with vitamins and platinum peptides is Drunk’s Elephant’s most popular product by far. The serum adds a sun-kissed glow to the face when mixed with moisturizer. The product rings up at $36. While this product is a cult favorite of 2022, the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion is a less expensive version of the sunshine drops at $15.99.

Youth to the People is a California-based skincare brand that is vegan and made from superfood ingredients. One of the brand’s best products is the Kale + Green Tea Spinach Vitamins cleansing face wash. The superfood ingredients in this product work to remove makeup, support the skin’s pH balance, and clear the buildup in pores. The antioxidants in the formula make sure that the cleanser doesn’t strip the skin of natural oils, leaving clean and glowing skin. This product retails for $38, and this set includes a full-size 237 mL bottle and a mini 20 mL bottle.

On the more affordable end of skincare is the Bubble moisturizer line. The moisturizers are between $14-$16 and provide lasting hydration throughout the day. The Slam Dunk moisturizer is for normal to dry skin and contains aloe leaf juice and hoya lacosuna flower extract to hydrate skin. The Level Up Balancing Gel moisturizer is for oily skin and provides lightweight hydration that won’t leave oily skin shiny. Both moisturizers come in fun packaging that allows the user to push on a pump that dispenses the product on a small plate. Bubble promises that they are cruelty-free and made in the USA.
