From the Outside-In

Your scars that you reflect on me

Your words that take my dignity

Every little piece of my self esteem

Battered and bruised

I’m so confused

Were both human beings

Is there a picture i’m not seeing

Because your pain leaves me bleeding

I can see the hurting in your eyes

I wish I could say it’d be alright

That we could talk and not fight

But i know i’m just your outlet

A punching bag when you’re upset

I know i’m not worthy of your neglect

But i’m scared to raise my voice

I’m scared for you to hear the noise

I just wish that you would let me in
