Over-Doing of Christmas Lights is Completely Acceptable

The most joyful time of the year is Christmas time so decorate your house bright for all to see. The brighter the house the more attention that is drawn to the house and the holiday. But can there really be too many decorations or lights used on one house?

There are plenty of humbugs that are around during Christmas time who feel some people go over-board with holiday decorations. For Christmas lovers everywhere, no amount of lights are too much. These lights bring out the joy in people.

It is said that if you put up an over abundance amount of lights then you may be seeking attention. If your house is along a major road or highway it may be distracting to drivers but definitely helps to put  the passersby in the holiday spirit. I believe it is just to show your holiday spirit and not an attention seeking ploy. Some towns have holiday house decorating contests which require people to be over the top with lights. Some neighborhoods like it when the whole street is decorated. While some decorate to please and excite young children.

Everyone has a different perspective on everything that happens or what others do. I believe if you like the look of a large amount of lights then go for it. If you like fewer lights then do that. It is all about how the holiday spirit moves you and what looks good to you. Just remember the electric bill will soon come in the mail.

The more the merrier, the more people that decorate the better. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year; don’t be bland. Show your spirit through the lights on your house and shine bright for all to see. Remember that hanging lights can be a family activity and a cherished family tradition. So shine on.
